While it is true that our main focus as a company is the syndicating of Scotch whisky and rum, we do also like to venture into unchartered waters for fun. This year, the LLS team has decided that with the hot season only a few weeks away that warm weather calls for more refreshing drinks and the natural candidate could only be a gin.
Staying true to our roots, we went looking for small batch distillers that could deliver a high quality product and help us turn into reality the recipe developed by one of our founders. We decided to call the project “The Eclectic Gin” because of the different influences involved. Apart from Macedonian juniper berries, the Eclectic Gin’s key botanicals are cardamom, black pepper, mint, angelica archangelica, coriander and hibiscus flower.
We wanted a dry gin that was pleasing to the palate as well as the eye, which is why we decided to give it a crimson colour that reminded us of the summer sunsets that would also be the most likely setting for its consumption. The crimson colour is provided by the hibiscus flower and being 100% natural it will change shade when exposed to direct sunlight and oxygen (for this reason we recommend keeping the bottle away from direct light and heat, just as all quality spirits deserve)..
Staying true to our company DNA, the Eclectic Gin will also be syndicated and will be produced in a single batch of approximately 66 bottles at 46% ABV. As such, all syndicate members will have their names on the rear label of the final product.
