THE WHISKY
We’ve just laid our hands on a batch of 18 year old peated whisky from Islay that was aged in an Oloroso sherry cask. Unlike our previous bottlings, this time we cannot disclose the name of the distillery since they don’t want consumers to know that some of their whisky is available in bulk through brokers. The good news is that we can make an 18yo sherry-aged Islay whisky available to you at a very competitive price.
On the nose this whisky gives notes of sea breeze, bitter orange, petricore and leather.
On the palate the whisky emanates notes of custard, cocoa, burnt orange backed by a light peat.
The finish is clean and mineral with an aftertaste of almond paste and ripe fruit
P.S. Those of you who are particularly curious will get a clue as to the origin of the whisky from the distillery's water source: Lochan Sholum.
